Bernd - ready to go!

The day started off as usual with coffee at Dog River.  I was laughing at Bernd as he told us that he had left his wetsuit and harness at Moiser yesterday.  It was all neatly arranged in the old payment booth when he went to get it.  Then Mike arrived from Roosevelt and told us that he had forgotten a board on the beach.  Apparently Peter, (from BC), had called him to let him know, and Peter will deliver it tomorrow.

All very funny - how could they do that....

Most of the guy's went to the Egg River Café for breakfast.  The food was good, but the service was very slow.

The call was for the event site.  We arrived just after 12:00.  The wind was very light so most of the guy's rigged their 6.0 Flyer sails.  Kent was happy because he was able to try out the new 6.0 FR that he bought yesterday.

Kent - proud of his new sail!

I got out my big windboard, and then went to blow up my 5.5m sail.  WTF - I didn't have a pump!  I had left it at Moiser!  Damn.....  How could I do that....

The wind seemed to pick up, so some of the guy's came in to de-rig.  Then it died right off...  We all sat around waiting for it to build again.  I decided that maybe if I left and went to Moiser to get my pump, that maybe it would come up again.

It worked, more or less.  My pump was there it the old "payment booth" right where Bernd's wetsuit had been.  When I got back, the wind was up a bit.  Double bonus!

Cynthia had the worst crash of the day, when she was looking for some gear by her dad's trailer, she stood up and ran into his drying rack with her eyeball.  Ouch!  I suspect she will have a black eye!

Cynthia - ran her eyeball into the Wetsuit Drying stand....

I think everyone had a pretty good day.  Kent was all over the river clocking over 70km.   Apparently his new 6.0 Flyer FR is much faster and well worth the price.

Andreas had a great day and worked his way upwind, almost to Viento and back.  He is working on his foot switches while on the foil, and made a bunch.

Bernd was kiting on his 14m kite and had a great day on his twin tip.  He said it was his most comfortable session of the trip.

Handré foiled 28km, and Mike had a good kiting session!

Cynthia was enjoying the demo board and making almost all of her jibes.  Blaine and Brad had several different sails rigged, chasing the gusts and lulls.

Gerry got out on his 6m sail and got foiling - he says he has to practice his uphauling.  Who would have believed a few years ago, that we would be worried about doing waterstarts - how things change!

Cam had a really good day, but managed to put a hole in another wing!  More business for for AirTime.

I had a bit of a frustrating day.  I needed just a bit more wind.  I think I was still tired and sore from the last few days, and I just didn't have the energy to pump as much as I needed to get onto the foil.  I had a few good runs, and did manage a few foot switches, which is great, but I also slogged a LOT!  Time on the water - all good!

After de-rigging, half of us went to China Gorge, and half to Ferment Brewing Company for supper.  I was with the Ferment crew - the food was really excellent!

It was a pretty late night.... I think some of us stayed up until almost 10:00...

Another great day!

Kent - Anxious to get on the water!
Even though there is no hint of a whitecap!
